Scope and ContentProposal by Lieutenant Christopher Myers, ‘Royal British Artillery and Acting Engineer’, for creating a new harbour and dry docks at Ringsend at the point where the River Dodder enters the River Liffey. The proposal consists of a ‘Survey’ map showing the area from Beggars Bush to the Liffey, including Irishtown and Ringsend, and indicating the proposed new courses of the Dodder and the otherwise unidentified ‘River Eeels’ to enter the sea east of Irishtown, the proposed harbour basin and the proposed dry docks adjacent to the Liffey. A second drawing shows a plan and section of the proposed dock walls, and a plan and elevation of the ‘Angular Dock Gate’.
